- Government agencies increasingly invade our daily lives, telling us everything from what cars and ovens we are allowed to own, what types of food we can purchase, and how everyday Americans are allowed to do their jobs. It is time for Congress to remind these agencies that their jobs are to enforce the law, not write it.
  
  I urge you to support the REINS Act (H.R. 277/S. 184) to limit executive overreach.
  
  It will:
  - Reassert Congress' legislative authority and prevent excessive overreach by the executive - keeping the people we elect writing the law, not unelected bureaucrats.
  - It would require every new "major rule" proposed by unaccountable federal agencies to be approved by both the House and Senate before going into effect.
  - Preserve Congress' authority to disapprove of a "nonmajor rule" through a join resolution - protecting everyday Americans from runaway government overreach.
  Instead of more government control, you can help restore the vital checks and balances our Founders enshrined within our Constitution to protect our freedom and liberty.
